Google states an app exception
Google’s Android TV accessibility guide says its Font size setting does not apply to Chrome, which has its own font settings. A system menu becoming larger while browser text remains unchanged can therefore be expected behavior.
Keep the observation specific. The television saving a system font preference and an app using that preference are separate stages.
Change the layer that renders the text
For the supported Android TV interface, follow the model’s Accessibility, Text and display, Font size route. For Chrome text, use Chrome’s own documented controls where that app and interface are supported. Do not invent a universal TV browser menu.
If another app ignores the change, consult that publisher’s accessibility guidance rather than assuming the Chrome exception proves all apps behave alike.
Check normal viewing distance
Inspect the actual text the viewer needs to read from the usual seat. A larger settings sample does not establish that a programme guide or web page is readable.
This article reports a documented inheritance boundary. It does not recommend installing a phone browser on a television or claim that every Android TV includes a remote-friendly Chrome app.
Questions answered
Does the system font preference apply to Chrome?
Google’s guide explicitly says it does not.
Does that prove Chrome is installed or supported on every Android TV?
No. The exception is not an installation-compatibility claim.
