Make a list of the actual viewing surfaces
For the reviewed Asian edition, BBC Player’s FAQ says to set the guidance PIN separately on each new device and each browser. List the surfaces the household actually uses before beginning the checks.
List the device and browser name rather than writing one broad entry such as family computer. Two browsers on the same computer can otherwise be overlooked. Keep this inventory limited to what the household uses so the task remains practical.
Use the current settings on each surface
The FAQ locates the guidance control in Settings. Open it on the first surface, choose the intended setting, then repeat the check on the next. Keep a completion note so a shared account does not become an assumption that every local setup was completed.
Keep the PIN private and follow the current service instructions for any change or recovery. This article does not supply a default code or a way around a restriction. Its purpose is to make the authorised setup complete across the screens you intend to use.
Check the result without generalising it
Confirm the relevant setting on each surface after configuration. A successful result on the phone answers the phone question; it does not establish the browser state. If you add a new browser or device later, include it in the same routine.
Treat the guidance setting as one part of choosing programmes for a shared screen. Read programme suitability information too. A PIN is an access control, not an individual assessment of every viewer or a guarantee that every content description will meet a household’s preferences.
Keep account and package issues separate
If a programme still cannot be opened, record its exact message before changing the setting again. Identify the device, browser, current setting and programme in a support enquiry, keeping the PIN itself private.
