Stop where the character has to decide
Planet Schule’s teacher guidance describes Elli Online as an interactive story in which choices change what Elli and Cosmo do next. The decision points occur at problems in the story. That makes the pause before the next scene a useful part of the learning task, rather than an interruption to rush through.
Before selecting a response, ask the group to state what Elli knows at this moment. Separate information already shown from information a viewer only learns later. A decision can look obvious in hindsight while having been less clear at the point when it was made.
Record the reason as well as the option
Have a learner complete a short sentence explaining the intended result of the choice. Another learner can identify a possible concern or an unanswered question. Keep the discussion about the fictional situation; children do not need to disclose private messages or personal incidents to participate.
After the next scene, compare the stated reason with the consequence the game presents. Did the result follow the expectation? Was a relevant person or detail overlooked? The comparison is more useful than simply recording which button led to the preferred ending.
Discuss the model the story supplies
Planet Schule explains that the choices can help the characters or bring them into difficulties. Those consequences are authored for the educational story. They can make a problem concrete, but completing a successful route does not prove that every real-world situation will unfold in the same way.
If the activity allows a different route to be explored, keep the initial reasoning visible. Changing an answer after seeing the outcome can reveal what was learned; it should not erase the original uncertainty. There is no need to claim that an untested route was played or that the game’s entire design has been reviewed here.
The published guidance places the resource from primary-school grade 2 and describes classroom, group and individual uses. An adult preparing the session should still review the particular material and support the discussion. End by asking which question the learner would now ask before acting in a similar fictional situation. That carries the reasoning beyond memorising the game’s next scene.
Questions answered
Why discuss the reason before selecting an option?
It preserves what the learner expected before hindsight makes the outcome seem obvious.
Does a successful story route guarantee the same result in real life?
No. The consequences are designed within a particular educational narrative.
