IPTVnator inactive-source cleanup: review uncertain results before deletion

Use the desktop cleanup dialog as a review step and distinguish an unverified source from an intentionally removed account record.

Keep a record before reinstalling

Decide whether cleanup is actually the task

A source list can be visually crowded while its accounts remain useful. If the goal is fewer visible items, inspect filters and presentation first. Deleting a saved source is a different decision from collapsing a panel or narrowing a category view.

Make a short private inventory of sources you intend to retain, those you knowingly retired and any whose status is uncertain. A temporary failed connection should remain uncertain until there is useful account evidence. The same household may need an inactive source retained for a later renewal or a configuration reference.

Open the documented review dialog

The developer’s library guide uses Clean up inactive sources on the desktop sources page. It checks across the library, even if the underlying page is filtered, and allows review before Delete selected. Inspect each selected row rather than treating the current page filter as the deletion scope.

Export a recoverable playlist snapshot first when the existing source state matters. Read account-check results in context: an unverified connection is different from a confirmed disabled or expired account. If several unrelated sources fail together, investigate the shared condition before accepting a mass-expiry explanation.

Keep the deletion consequences visible

The guide says deleting a source removes its saved favorites, history and progress while retaining downloaded files. This makes a source deletion broader than removing one label from the screen. Decide whether those saved records are intentionally being discarded.

For an original review example, leave an uncertain backup source unchecked while selecting one account that the owner explicitly retired. Read the selected count and identities before confirming. This smaller decision is reviewable and preserves unresolved evidence without requiring every source to be removed at once.

Read the per-source result

The developer notes that busy or playing sources can be skipped. Inspect the individual outcomes after the action; a selected row is not automatically a successful deletion. Retain any skipped or failed item’s state before repeating the operation.

Compare the remaining sources with the original retention list, then verify one important source still has its expected user state. If the accepted goal was only a tidier view, return to supported layout controls instead of expanding the deletion scope. No real source was checked or removed for this article.

Questions answered

Does the cleanup dialog act only on the visible page filter?

The developer says its checks span the library. Review actual selected identities before confirming.

Is an unverified connection the same as a confirmed expired account?

No. Keep the uncertainty visible and inspect the relevant account or connection condition.

Does selected always mean deleted?

No. Read the per-source outcome; busy or playing items can be skipped.
