Verify membership before sequence
First confirm that the expected tracks belong to one album. If tracks are missing or split into another album, solve that identity problem separately. Jellyfin documents disc metadata as part of music ordering, so a correct album page can still need an ordering review.
Inspect the boundary between discs
Compare the last expected track of disc one with the first of disc two. Check their embedded disc and track numbers rather than relying only on alphabetical filenames. A repeated track number is not inherently wrong when it belongs to another disc.
For an owned two-part workshop recording, write the intended sequence in a short inventory and compare it with the library. Change the inconsistent numeric field on a copy, then review that small sample. Do not strip all numbering just because the current result is inconvenient.
Confirm the listener's route
Inspect the full order and play short excerpts around the boundary on the intended client. Record any client-specific difference before editing the source again. Retain both the tag policy and the original files until the sample is accepted.
Questions answered
Does a disc subfolder remove the need to check tags?
No. Review the embedded disc information used by the library as well as the filesystem layout.
Must track numbering continue across both discs?
Choose a consistent representation of the release. Disc-specific numbering needs a reliable disc distinction.
