Decide what the guide window is meant to show
Kodi’s guide settings include the number of past and future days displayed. These are presentation and data-window choices for the programme guide. They do not establish permission to replay a past programme, create a recording or extend a source’s catch-up retention. Start by deciding whether you need to see more schedule information or actually play an earlier broadcast.
Use one channel and one dated programme as the example. Note whether its schedule entry is missing, visible but unplayable, or associated with a recording. Each state needs a different explanation. A past entry on screen can be accurate historical schedule information without a replay asset behind it.
Adjust the guide view against available data
Open Kodi’s Live TV guide settings and inspect the current past-day and future-day values. Choose a window appropriate to the amount of programme data the backend really supplies. Increasing a visible window cannot force the source to publish additional schedule days. Compare the same channel before and after the change.
If future entries stop at the same point, inspect the backend’s programme-data coverage. If an older entry appears but offers no replay, inspect the source’s actual playback or recording capability instead. Keep the date, channel and expected action in the support case; “EPG broken” hides the distinction between missing information and unavailable media.
Treat guide refresh and guide clearing separately
Kodi documents a guide update interval and an option to prevent updates during playback. These controls affect when programme data is refreshed. A long-running playback session can therefore be relevant to the timing of an update. Review the configured behavior before interpreting a stale guide as a failed media stream.
The guide’s clear-data operation removes cached guide information so it can be imported again. It is broader than changing the displayed date window and should not be the automatic first step. Establish that the backend has current data, preserve the existing state and understand the import route before deliberately clearing a cache you may need for comparison.
Check what selecting a programme actually does
Kodi also provides choices for the default selection action, such as information, channel switching or recording-related behavior. An unexpected action after pressing Select may be a configured interface choice rather than missing programme data. Review that choice using the same programme entry and remote button.
The expected result is a guide with the intended visible period and a clearly understood selection action. Test playback, catch-up and recordings through the capabilities of the real backend or source. Do not infer a replay entitlement from a historical grid entry or use a guide-display setting as a promise about IPTV Europe archive availability.
Questions answered
Will showing seven past days create seven days of catch-up?
No. The visible schedule window and playable archive availability are separate. The actual source or backend must provide a supported replay route.
Does clearing guide data repair the media source?
It clears Kodi’s cached guide information for reimport. A source playback failure or an unavailable programme needs its own diagnosis.
