Choose the information you actually want to receive
Netflix’s current notification controls separate categories rather than offer only one all-or-nothing preference. What you watch includes new seasons and episodes, Leaving Soon and Your Collections. Membership offers covers plan upgrades and subscription promotions. Begin with your desired information before selecting Unsubscribe from All. A hypothetical viewer who wants to know when a saved series returns may prefer to retain programme-related updates while declining membership promotions. That is a communication preference; it does not change the subscription, preserve a leaving title or guarantee an announcement for every item in the catalogue.
Edit the correct adult profile and channel
For email, the published browser route is Account, Profiles, the chosen profile, Notification settings and Manage Emails. Netflix describes this for adult profiles with an email address. Push categories have their own Manage Push Notifications control in the same profile area. Check both the profile and channel before interpreting a changed email preference as a changed mobile alert. On a shared account, the intended adult profile belongs in the setup. Do not change another person’s preference merely because their phone is the one currently receiving a message. Keep email and push as two separate selections in any household note.
Check the device-level permission for mobile alerts
Netflix also documents a separate permission layer on the phone or tablet. On iPhone or iPad, its route is Settings, Notifications, Netflix and Allow Notifications. The current Android guide uses My Netflix, the profile name, App Settings and Allow Notifications. Inspect the intended device as well as the profile category. A profile preference alone is not a complete check of the phone’s notification setup. Conversely, allowing app notifications does not identify which topic categories you opted into. If release alerts are the goal, review the programme-related selection and the actual receiving device rather than enable every promotional category.
Do not expect email opt-out to stop account notices
Netflix’s email help says account-update messages, including security, billing and time-sensitive notices, cannot be unsubscribed from. Its push settings separately list an Account updates category, so do not merge the two channels into a blanket claim that one switch removes every message. After changing preferences, retain the category, channel and selected profile if a later notification seems unexpected. An already received email also does not prove the current preference failed. If you set Remind Me on an upcoming title, Netflix says its eventual availability may produce notifications or email and an entry in My List; that reminder is a separate title-specific action from receiving general recommendations.
