Classify what returned
Inspect the destination before importing more files. If the output configuration returned but the intended scene list did not, record that narrower result. A successful import can be correct for the artifact supplied while still being incomplete for the project.
Match the two export types
OBS assigns output-oriented settings to Profiles and scenes and sources to Scene Collections. Profile > Export saves settings, and Profile > Import loads that settings export. For the missing layout, use Scene Collection > Import and choose the collection exported for the same project revision. Then select the imported collection from the Scene Collection menu. Keep the selected Profile and Scene Collection names together in a short pairing note.
If several revisions exist, compare their purpose and dates with the last known layout. Do not select a file merely because its name contains backup. A collection from before the closing card was added may import correctly while reproducing an older presentation.
Verify the dependencies afterward
Once the scenes return, inspect their referenced media and hardware inputs separately. The presence of the scene list does not prove that its files exist on the destination computer. Rehearse a short opening-and-closing sequence before considering the transfer complete.
Keep both exports until the recreated project is understood. This is an original recovery sequence; no profile or collection was imported for this article.
Questions answered
Did importing the Profile delete my scenes?
A Profile is a different storage object. First check whether the corresponding Scene Collection was supplied and selected.
Can a returned scene still have missing media?
Yes. Inspect its local file and device dependencies after import.
