Preserve the expected wording
Note the exact title that should appear and the scene where it belongs. If several text sources look similar, identify the selected source by a temporary harmless phrase in a rehearsal. Avoid editing the live audience composition while discovering which object owns the words.
Check the text input mode
OBS’s Text Sources documentation distinguishes typed Text from Read from file and describes different native text source implementations by operating system. Inspect the actual installed source rather than assuming a Windows property screenshot matches every platform.
If file input is selected, inspect the chosen file’s real path and saved content. Editing an unsaved text-editor buffer or another similarly named file does not establish that the source received new words. If direct text is selected, changing an external file is the wrong experiment.
Verify meaning and layout together
After confirming the owner, restore the intended title and inspect the entire phrase at output size. A longer replacement can wrap or clip differently even when the words updated correctly. Check the saved presentation sample before discarding the old title resource.
No text source was edited for this article. The result to seek is one known input path, one saved wording and one readable output.
Questions answered
Can editing a text file change a directly entered label?
