OTT Navigator seek thumbnails missing: verify the source supplies them

Define the missing feature precisely

A programme can play and seek successfully without showing thumbnail previews while the seek position changes. Begin by distinguishing missing pictures from failed seeking. Choose one archive programme that already opens and record the app version, device and interface style.

Use the same programme and position for the comparison. A thumbnail can help navigation, but it is not the archive video itself. Avoid replacing a working source configuration merely because the interface lacks a decorative preview seen in another person’s screenshot.

Check the documented provider requirement

OTT Navigator’s seek-preview page requires source-supplied pictures, such as its documented Flussonic thumbnail route or a playlist seek_preview address. It says the app cannot create these previews from the video when the source supplies neither. Verify the source capability with its owner before changing the player.

If you maintain the playlist, use only the source’s real supported preview endpoint and documented template. Do not fabricate an address by changing the media URL or probe a server for undocumented files. A valid-looking template string is not proof that thumbnail images exist for the requested programme times.

Inspect the actual television setting and mode

The developer describes a Show image preview while doing rewind or fast forward option under Player and Shows archive, with device, archive and user-experience conditions for visibility. Inspect the current build’s offered control and record its state. A touch-screen tutorial may not show the same setting as the TV interface.

Enable the intended presentation only after source support is established, then seek within the same known programme. Record whether images appear and whether their scene matches the position. A wrong or stale preview is a different result from no thumbnail response at all.

Keep navigation and playback results separate

If seeking still works without images, preserve that successful media result. If both fail, diagnose the archive and requested interval before treating the issue as a thumbnail setting. Keep one requested position and the observed result with a redacted source description.

The expected outcome is a supported preview route or an understood source limitation. It does not manufacture archive retention, guarantee previews on every channel or prove that a picture displayed during seeking is an independently playable recording. Retain the ordinary playback configuration while assessing this optional feature.
