Describe what changed at the end of the film
Plex documents both skipping credits and moving a still-playing video into a smaller frame on the Up Next screen. A shrinking picture is not the same observation as the timeline jumping forward. Begin by identifying which happened. If the credits continue in a small window, the credits-detection help says selecting that player can restore full screen. That is a useful immediate action when you want to read a crew credit. It does not establish that the film ended early, that a different source file is needed or that the original video has been modified.
Review Show Up Next on the actual Android TV player
The current Android TV settings guide lists Show Up Next separately from Skip Credits and labels it as requiring Plex Pass. Its When Video Finishes choice differs from During final credits, the documented default that minimizes the still-playing video. Inspect that preference when the aim is to keep the credits in the main player until the video finishes. Do not assume every Plex application has the same option simply because several can show a Skip Credits button. Keep the actual app and account feature context with the change, particularly when comparing Android TV with another household screen.
Choose manual or automatic skipping deliberately
The same Android TV guide gives Skip Credits three choices for marked content: Disabled, Manually and Automatically. Manual displays a button for the viewer to use; automatic performs the skip without that selection. Neither should be confused with the separate Up Next presentation preference. Plex says detected extra scenes during or after credits can be the destination of the skip. Detection is a feature result, not a promise that every film’s extra scene is identified perfectly. If you are studying or enjoying the full credits sequence, choose the intended player behavior rather than assume a skip button must always be used.
Keep server analysis separate from a presentation preference
For personal-library material, Plex generates credit markers through server analysis, with server, library and individual-item controls. Its documented server route is Plex Web App, Settings, Server, Library and Generate credits video markers. The personal-media feature has server-admin and viewer Plex Pass requirements, including its qualifying Plex Home exception. A normal viewer should not need to rebuild the library merely to investigate a minimized player. If no marker exists, that is a different question from choosing when Up Next appears. If markers behave incorrectly on one title, retain the exact edition and item before changing detection for an entire library. These controls concern navigation and presentation; they do not delete or shorten the stored film.
Questions answered
Does Plex minimizing the credits mean the video has finished?
No. Plex describes a still-playing small video on the Up Next screen, which can be selected to restore full screen.
Are Show Up Next and Skip Credits the same Android TV setting?
No. The current guide documents them separately, with different effects and choices.
