Make an inventory from the actual records
Before ending a Prime Video add-on, identify which programmes were watched through the channel and which titles were separately bought or rented. Use the real purchase record and current title label, not a memory of which app played the film. Amazon’s usage rules distinguish these transaction types. A hypothetical household might have streamed one film through a channel and bought another on the same screen. They share the interface but have different access records. A poster in a watchlist does not identify which transaction, if any, applies to it.
Read the channel’s ending entitlement
Amazon says access through a third-party add-on stops when that subscription expires or is cancelled unless the title is separately rented, purchased or the subscription is resumed. Check the actual effective date and account confirmation for the channel you intend to end. Do not assume every add-on ends together or that a general Prime membership replaces the separate channel entitlement. If a film remains on the shortlist, decide when it can realistically be watched under the existing arrangement before accepting another charge. A listed title can still require a different purchase after that channel access ends.
Keep an independent purchase subject to its own terms
The usage rules separately describe purchased videos and their viewing arrangement, subject to Amazon’s terms and other limitations. Ending a channel should not be treated as evidence that a different film purchase was never made. Locate the actual order if an expected purchase is missing, using the correct account and country storefront context. Equally, do not describe a channel-streamed film as owned simply because it was watched repeatedly. The practical task is matching the intended title with its real transaction. It does not require promising that every historical catalogue item will remain available forever without conditions.
A temporary download is another separate check
A channel download does not convert the subscription access into an independent purchase. Consult the current saved-item and subscription rules before relying on it after the entitlement ends. Keep a short private record with title, transaction type, relevant date and the account holding it. If the eventual problem is a missing order, give support the purchase evidence; if it is an expired channel entitlement, ask about that product instead. This makes an add-on decision reviewable without buying the whole shortlist again or treating every file displayed inside the app as the same kind of long-term library record.
Questions answered
Does a channel download itself establish a separate film purchase?
No. Amazon distinguishes temporary subscription downloads from purchase transactions.
Where should I look if a separately purchased film is unexpectedly missing?
Use the genuine purchase record and the correct account context, keeping that question separate from the ended channel subscription.
