Use the side that contains the panel
Samsung describes charging the SolarCell Remote with its rear solar panel facing a suitable light source, or using its USB-C charging connection. Leaving the panel covered while judging light charging does not test the documented arrangement.
Check the exact remote before looking for disposable batteries or applying another model’s charging assumptions. Button layout and regional details can vary.
Establish power before pairing
If the remote is unresponsive, use the manufacturer’s supported charging route and inspect its charge indication. Charging and pairing are separate states: a depleted battery can prevent useful pairing tests, while a charged remote can still need the correct TV relationship.
Samsung’s current model example also provides a TV menu for remote battery status. Follow the route in the actual model manual when labels differ. Do not treat another region’s screenshot as an exact promise.
Check normal control afterwards
Once charged, test basic TV navigation and the required power or volume actions. If only one external device fails, investigate that command route separately from battery charging.
This explanation uses Samsung’s primary product guidance and intentionally makes no runtime or lifespan promise. Actual use and charging conditions need observation rather than a marketing endurance figure.
Questions answered
