The category belongs in the plan
ShortsTV describes its annual Oscar Nominated Short Films theatrical release. A concrete historical example is IFC Center’s 2026 programme: it lists animated, documentary and live-action selections, with the documentaries divided into Program A and Program B at that venue. The venue’s page identifies these as past films.
Start with the year and category you intend to see. “The Oscar shorts” is not enough information to identify a ticket. A documentary selection may occupy more than one programme, and the specific cinema’s breakdown matters more than a generic promotional title.
Check the actual programme record
Open the venue’s film-details page and read the listed total running time, contents, languages and any content notes. Decide whether you have time for that whole programme. The constituent films may be short while the combined screening still takes a feature-length part of an evening.
For a group, share the exact programme link and category before booking. Do not describe animation as automatically suitable for children. Use the actual work descriptions and venue guidance rather than relying on the visual form alone.
Keep a dated listing in its proper place
The reviewed 2026 IFC series ran earlier in the year. It is a useful example of programme structure, not a promise that a seat is available now. Check the cinema’s current event before travelling or paying. Ignore unrelated showtime widgets attached elsewhere on an archival page.
A theatrical programme also does not prove that every included short can be selected through a ShortsTV home subscription. If home viewing is the aim, search the precise work and current official offer. Preserve the year and filmmaker so a different awards edition does not silently replace your intended choice.
Questions answered
Does one generic Oscar-shorts label identify the whole ticket?
Check the year, category and the cinema’s programme split.
Are the cited IFC 2026 dates current screenings?
No. They are a dated, past-programme example of how the release was organised.
