Inspect the active queue first
A music-library album view and the active play queue are different lists. Before adding another track, inspect what is already queued and which item is playing. A file shown in the library does not establish its position in the current session.
Use a disposable three-track example with recognizable names. Let the first track play while the next two occupy a known order. The test goal should be explicit: add a fourth item at the end or place it immediately after the current one. These produce different listening sequences.
Use the documented action scope
VideoLAN’s Android Audio Explorer page distinguishes Append from Insert next. It also allows these actions on broader selections such as an album or artist. Read the selection scope and action before confirming rather than assuming every tap concerns a single track.
Keep the sample list small enough to inspect. Adding a whole album can create a correct but much larger queue than intended. Confirm the selected source and number of entries before judging the player’s ordering behavior.
Verify order before advancing
Open the actual queue and inspect the result while the original track remains active. Record where the added item appears. Then advance deliberately and confirm which track plays. A visible entry in the expected location and successful playback are separate observations.
If the result differs, preserve whether Append or Insert next was used and what was selected. Do not add repeated copies while testing an unclear first result. A queued file that has moved or become inaccessible can fail later without proving the insertion order was wrong.
Save a list only when persistence is intended
If the sequence should survive the current session, use the installed application’s supported playlist-saving workflow and test reopening it. An active queue is not automatically a durable named playlist or a copy of its source media.
The expected outcome is a deliberate queue edit with a checked next item. It does not change an album’s stored track order or authorize distribution of the media. Retain any important named playlist separately before a large queue experiment.
