Choose your role before choosing the screen
WATCHA’s published Korean Party help distinguishes participating on certain televisions from creating the session, entering chat and using commentary. The latter actions are limited to mobile/tablet apps and PC web. A television can therefore be a valid viewing destination without being the screen on which every host or conversation control appears. Begin with the actual task: create a party, join one, or participate in its conversation. In a hypothetical home setup, plan the hosting device first, then choose the supported larger screen for participation. A successful ordinary WATCHA installation alone does not establish support for every Party function.
Distinguish the nickname identifier from the invitation code
WATCHA’s separate January 2026 notice explains the three-digit identifier shown beside a Party nickname. Nicknames are not unique, so this code helps distinguish participants using the same name. It is not the party code that a host supplies for finding the session. In a conversation with two people using an identical nickname, refer to the displayed identifier to understand who made the remark. That is an identity-reading aid inside the conversation, not evidence that one person has multiple paid subscriptions or that a television has received a new activation code. Keep the code’s location and purpose with any question about it.
Check programme access and the supported role independently
The Party guide requires subscription access, and says individually purchased content must also have been purchased. A successful invitation therefore does not supply a missing paid title. Before the planned session, have participants inspect the actual item under their own legitimate access. Keep that question separate from whether their device can host or merely join. If the film is available but chat entry is missing on a listed television route, the role restriction may explain it. If the player itself cannot start the chosen title, report that access or playback problem separately. The comparison below follows the published Party routes; it does not certify every television model or imported device.
| Published surface | Party role described |
|---|---|
| Mobile/tablet app or PC web | Participation plus creation, chat input and commentary. |
| Supported Samsung/LG smart-TV or LG CineBeam route | Participation; creation and conversation controls remain limited to mobile/web. |
| Chromecast, Android TV, Apple TV or PlayStation 5 | Party not supported in the cited guide. |
Questions answered
Can the listed WATCHA TV routes create a Party and enter chat?
The current help limits creation, chat input and commentary to mobile/tablet apps and PC web, while allowing participation on the listed TV routes.
Is the three-digit number beside a nickname the Party invitation code?
No. WATCHA says it distinguishes people with the same nickname; joining uses the host’s party link or party code.
