Arirang TV: read the channel and the schedule’s time basis

Keep the World television channel, KST or GMT/UTC labels and the actual programme edition together.

The schedule separates television from radio

Arirang’s schedule page provides separate TV and Radio choices and identifies the World television channel. Those selections belong to different services. A radio programme or podcast from Arirang is not the television programme simply because it uses the same broadcaster name or concerns the same artist.

Begin with television and the intended date when finding a channel appointment. If a saved link opens a radio schedule, change the service selection rather than trying to correct its times into the television grid. Retain the full programme title after the channel and medium are correct.

KST and GMT/UTC labels need to stay attached to their entries

The current Arirang television page can show a programme promotion with a KST appointment while its previous, live and next channel panel uses GMT/UTC. These are explicitly labelled references, not evidence that one of the page’s clocks is wrong. Read the label beside the entry being used.

A reminder should retain the date and original reference before conversion to the viewer’s location. Do not apply one permanent add-hours correction to every time on the website. A promotional appointment and a live-channel panel can already be expressed in different references even while both correctly describe the same broadcaster.

Near midnight, the originating schedule date and the viewer’s local calendar date can differ; save both instead of changing the programme title.

A sample weekly grid is not the current daily schedule

Arirang’s official television proposal includes a weekly schedule marked Sample and based on Korean Standard Time. It is useful for understanding the kind of programme layout the broadcaster presents. The word Sample also limits its role: it is not the authoritative daily appointment for a current special transmission.

Use the current schedule’s date selection for an actual viewing plan. A programme can move, repeat or appear as a special edition after a proposal was prepared. Keep an old brochure with its own period instead of treating a familiar series name in that document as proof of today’s start time.

The live sequence and an individual video have different purposes

Arirang’s television page distinguishes the running channel sequence from programme pages and on-demand content. Its current panel names individual shows such as Press Perspective and Simply K-Pop material. A complete episode, a performance clip and the running World channel are different selections, even when they share the same programme brand.

For an archive search, save the programme title, episode or event where shown, and original date. For a live enquiry, add World TV and the schedule’s stated reference. If one short video ends, compare its duration before assuming the entire channel stopped; the selected item may simply have been an individual complete segment.

Questions answered

Should I convert every Arirang time from KST automatically?

No. The television page also displays GMT/UTC-labelled entries; preserve the reference beside the chosen appointment.

Can the proposal’s Sample schedule establish today’s programme?

No. Use the current dated schedule for an actual appointment.
