The daily-magazine assumption is now outdated
BRF’s current product page describes Blickpunkt as a weekly television magazine, with Friday transmission and weekend repeats. A November 2025 announcement set the change for January 2026 while retaining daily video reports for digital channels. An older description of a daily linear magazine should therefore not determine today’s viewing plan.
This is a change in publication rhythm, not proof that East Belgian video reporting has stopped. Decide whether you want the weekly assembled programme or a report about something that happened today. The two tasks now lead to different parts of the broadcaster’s output.
Use the magazine for an assembled edition
For a longer overview, find the latest complete Blickpunkt edition in the BRF Mediathek. Compare the edition date rather than counting weekend transmissions as new programmes. A repeat can be useful for a shared appointment, but it is not necessarily a fresh update to the news.
If you remember a report from within the magazine, note its subject and the edition date. The complete programme preserves the introductions and sequence of reports. A standalone story can be easier to share, but it may not reproduce the surrounding discussion or all details from the magazine.
Use the digital report for a particular development
BRF says its daily digital video contributions are also available in the Mediathek. Search by the place, issue or person when a specific local development is the target. Keep the publication date attached, because a follow-up may have changed the situation since the original report.
A useful comparison distinguishes the date of an event, the date a report was published and the date a weekly programme assembled it. Those dates may differ without any listing being wrong. Preserve them separately when making a research note or comparing coverage over time.
Build a viewing rhythm that fits the question
A household following East Belgian community life might watch the weekly magazine and open individual reports when a topic needs attention sooner. Someone researching one town may prefer the report archive. Neither task is improved by refreshing the linear guide repeatedly for a new daily magazine that the current schedule no longer promises.
Save the complete programme link when sharing an edition, and the report link when discussing one story. This keeps the scope clear for the next viewer and avoids treating a short contribution as an incomplete or broken copy of the weekly programme.
