ČT edu: find a curriculum excerpt with Czech search terms

Find teacher-selected Czech Television clips, retain Czech diacritics in searches and choose an excerpt that supports a specific question.

Search for the concept the excerpt teaches

ČT edu explains that teachers select short videos from Czech Television programmes with reference to the curriculum. The search interface asks users to enter terms with Czech diacritics. A full programme title and an educational concept are consequently different starting clues.

If a teacher asks for an explanation of a process, begin with its Czech subject term. Preserve accents from the official heading rather than replacing them with an approximate English translation. An English search may describe the idea correctly but fail to match the words used to index a Czech resource.

Read the excerpt as a selected piece of a programme

The resource is already an editorial selection, not automatically the complete original episode. Read its description for the question it addresses. A full documentary can have a broad argument, while a short teaching clip may isolate one example or demonstration from that argument.

For a lesson, write one sentence stating what the learner should notice. For example, a fictional task might ask pupils to explain why two stages in a demonstration produce different results. Check that both stages are visible in the selected clip. If only the conclusion appears, look for another resource or change the question.

Pair the viewing with an appropriate activity

The published portal includes learning material beyond videos. Follow the resource’s own links and check whether the activity is intended for the same topic and educational stage. Similar headings do not guarantee that a worksheet is built around the particular excerpt you selected.

Preview proper names and technical vocabulary that pupils will need. Decide whether they should first observe the picture, listen for an explanation or compare statements. This makes a brief clip useful without extending it into a full television lesson. Use a pause only where examining evidence serves the task.

Share a recoverable reference

Send the resource link with its exact title and the reason it was chosen. Someone returning later can then distinguish it from another clip taken from the same programme. For a quotation or research exercise, keep the original programme credit as well as the educational resource title.

The guide page contains an older introductory video count alongside much newer counters. Neither figure is needed to find a suitable excerpt, so this guide does not present either as a permanent catalogue size. The useful verified facts are the selection method, search spelling instruction and educational organisation. No programme playback or classroom use was tested.
