Use the old bookmark as a clue to the programme
EITB’s December 2025 announcement described EITB Nahieran handing over to ETB ON for television, with radio and its recordings moving to GUAU. If an older article still says Nahieran, first identify whether it points to a television programme or an audio item. The old platform name alone no longer tells you which destination to search.
Preserve the original programme title, episode or broadcast date from the reference. If the link fails, those clues can still locate the item through the current official service. A news story discussing a programme may retain an old link even after the broadcaster’s viewing routes have changed.
Choose a channel, a special feed or a recording
The ETB ON announcement distinguishes ordinary live television, special live transmissions and selections from the television archive. A special event can therefore have its own live entry without replacing a continuous ETB channel. Conversely, opening a channel does not promise the beginning of an event already underway.
For an appointment, follow the current event or programme entry. For a missed show, search the named programme and date. For older material, investigate its archive collection rather than scrolling only through the latest broadcasts. Each route uses a different clue: time now, a known edition, or a historical subject.
Keep Basque and Spanish titles usable
Copy the programme’s displayed title when sharing a find with another household member. An English description of the topic can explain why it matters, but it is a weak replacement for a short Basque title. Keep the language you want to hear separate from the language used to navigate the website.
If two results concern the same subject, compare programme title, date, duration and presenters before choosing. A short current-affairs report and an older documentary may be related without being alternative language versions of the same production. Inspect available tracks on the selected item rather than inferring them from the website’s language buttons.
Treat the launch device list as dated information
The original announcement included both available access routes and future device plans. A promised later launch is not proof that a current television has a supported app. Follow the present ETB ON destination and its current store listing when moving the programme to a television.
For a lasting bookmark, save the official programme page and add a note identifying video or audio. That small distinction prevents a future search for a radio conversation inside a television-only catalogue.
Questions answered
Where should an old Nahieran radio reference lead?
EITB’s transition announcement directs radio and its content to GUAU.
Does a special ETB ON live entry identify a permanent channel?
No. Keep event-specific transmissions separate from continuous channel schedules.
