HRT4 and HRT International: identify the English TV bulletin

A foreign-language bulletin is a programme choice

HRT’s May 2020 announcement described separate studio news bulletins in English, German and Spanish on its fourth television programme and international satellite service. That is evidence of distinct language programmes, rather than three guaranteed audio tracks attached to every item on HRT4. Keep the bulletin’s language and title in the request.

The announcement is historical. Its quoted airtimes should not become a permanent present-day timetable. If a receiver lists HRT4 while another page opens HRT International, retain that difference: the channels can present familiar HRT material without having identical running schedules. Resolve the particular bulletin rather than switching services solely because both display HRT branding.

HRT has a dedicated English television-news description

The Voice of Croatia’s broadcaster-owned TV News page specifically describes English-language studio news covering Croatia and international developments, culture, sport and weather. This supplies an actual programme-level television identity. It is more precise than changing the language of the broadcaster’s website and assuming that the running video will change with it.

The page also presents a recurring clock description, but the current programme grid must settle a dated transmission. Keep the programme title and intended date when checking HRT4 or the international service. If the required edition has already aired, identify its publication or recording entry instead of repeatedly opening whichever channel happens to be live.

Croatia Today and Late Edition have separate dated entries

The English portal publishes Croatia Today and Croatia Today Late Edition as separately titled resources. Its October 2026 entries show why the complete title matters: the ordinary and late editions for 26 October appear as different records, with different publication timestamps. A title containing the same calendar date does not make those editions interchangeable.

Use the visible edition title and displayed publication details together when saving the item. The late edition’s publication can fall after midnight while its title retains the preceding programme date. Preserve both dates rather than rewriting one to match the other. This distinguishes the requested bulletin from a later news item or another edition with a similar headline.

An English radio item cannot supply the television picture

HRT’s radio listening library separately lists Vijesti na engleskom. The English Voice of Croatia portal also distinguishes listening from watching and links HRT International as a television route. Choose the television item when a studio picture is required; a radio selection can be functioning correctly while providing only sound.

For a useful enquiry, include HRT4 or HRT International, the bulletin language, complete edition title, programme date and whether the selected resource is television or audio. Use Europe/Zagreb when converting a Croatia-origin dated schedule, retaining the publisher’s stated time basis. These programme details resolve the intended content without inferring translated subtitles or a selectable soundtrack from the website’s English menu.

Questions answered

Are the English, German and Spanish bulletins simply audio buttons?

The cited HRT announcement describes separate studio programmes. It does not promise those tracks on every HRT4 item.

Is Croatia Today Late Edition identical to Croatia Today with the same date?

They are separately titled records. Retain the complete edition title and displayed publication date.

Why does an English HRT news selection sometimes supply sound only?

Check whether the selected item is in the radio listening library rather than the television route.
