Use the catalogue marker for discovery
HRT’s official HRTi access guidance says captioned Videoteka items carry (T) in their titles and can be found through that search term. During playback, Hrvatski is the caption selection when supplied. The presence of Croatian programme speech alone does not establish that captions are available.
Use the marker to build a shortlist, then inspect the actual item. Check the complete programme title, edition or episode and duration. A subtitle marker should not lead you to choose a clip when the intended session requires the full film or discussion.
Description has its own collection and audio choice
The guidance places described Videoteka material in an Audiodeskripcija catalogue and identifies Audioopis as the playback audio selection where available. This discovery route is useful when visual explanation is essential and a general programme search returns several possible versions.
Choose a brief passage with meaningful visual action to check the presentation. A menu selection can be correct even when the narrator is silent during dialogue. Judge whether the description supplies the information needed to follow the scene, rather than expecting an uninterrupted additional voice.
Live HTV3 is a different presentation case
HRT separately explains that qualifying live HTV3 programmes contain description without requiring HRTi setting changes. That live arrangement should not be copied as an instruction for every Videoteka recording. Conversely, changing an on-demand audio option is not proof that the current live programme has the same alternate track.
Keep live and replay observations separate. If extra narration is heard during a live slot, compare the programme’s description marking and schedule before treating it as an audio fault. If the goal is another presentation, inspect the current official programme options instead of assuming every surface can remove a mixed narration layer.
Make browsing manageable too
HRTi’s access guidance also describes pausing automatic rotation on the homepage through accessibility settings. If moving recommendations make selection difficult, use the offered pause and manual navigation controls before choosing the programme. Finding the right adapted item should not require racing a changing carousel.
Save the exact recording once found. Include (T) or the described edition in the note you share with another viewer. This preserves the access choice when a similar ordinary programme result appears elsewhere in the catalogue.
