Streaming access and club membership are separate
Makusi’s official FAQ distinguishes the digital viewing platform from Makusi Kluba: their registrations are separate. Start with the viewing platform when the goal is to choose a Basque-language programme. A club membership number is not the same identifier as a streaming profile.
This distinction is particularly useful when a child remembers club activities but an adult is trying to resume an episode. Decide which task you are completing before changing account information. Keep club correspondence and programme bookmarks in clearly named places so the next adult does not have to reconstruct the difference.
Choose an age band deliberately
The FAQ describes child profile bands of 0–4, 5–7 and 8+, as well as an adult profile. The administrator controls profile creation and age-setting changes. The selected band affects which content the platform presents, so two family profiles can show different choices without a programme having disappeared from the service.
Use the child’s appropriate profile before building a shortlist. If a sibling recommends something absent from the current selection, check the profile context before assuming a search failure. Do not raise the age setting merely to make a title appear; inspect the programme information and decide whether it is suitable for the intended viewer.
Check transitions as well as the starting screen
Makusi documents an optional parental PIN for moving from younger profiles into the 8+ or adult context. The transition prompt applies when the administrator has configured that PIN. After configuring it, walk through the ordinary profile-switching route yourself to check the gate at the transition that matters.
Keep the PIN private and avoid entering it while a child is watching closely if you expect it to function as a boundary. A stored profile setting should also be checked on the television actually used. This is a suggested household check; it is not a claim that the service has been tested here or that any setting replaces adult judgment.
Make the shortlist useful to the next viewer
Choose a small number of programmes in the intended profile, inspect each description and use the actual episode length to fit the session. Record which profile contains the shortlist. That is more actionable than telling another adult simply to open Makusi.
When a programme’s spoken language or subtitles matter, inspect the selected episode. An age band organizes the audience context; it does not establish that every item has a particular subtitle language or accessibility version.
