Channel identity

Start with the complete NHK service name
NHK’s Roku listing describes NHK WORLD-JAPAN as its English-language international broadcasting service, with live television and programmes on demand. NHK WORLD PREMIUM’s own reception site identifies a different Japanese-language channel for overseas viewers. The word NHK alone does not resolve which of those services a listing means.
If a Japanese-language programme is your priority, do not assume an English WORLD-JAPAN channel entry will acquire that programme when you change the television menu. Likewise, a PREMIUM listing is not simply an upgrade button inside every WORLD-JAPAN app. Establish the actual service before comparing an account, channel list or programme request.
The app’s language list has a wider scope than one TV feed
The publisher’s current Google Play listing describes nineteen available app languages, multilingual on-demand video and audio, and television and radio services. That describes the wider app offering. It should not be read as a promise of nineteen selectable audio tracks on every live television programme.
Choose the language and the type of material separately. A news article, a radio programme, a subtitled on-demand item and the live English television service can offer different controls. If changing the interface language leaves the live speech unchanged, that result alone does not establish a faulty installation.
Use the developer listing for the actual platform
The Google Play listing names NHK (JAPAN BROADCASTING CORP.) as developer; the Roku listing also identifies NHK, Japan Broadcasting Corporation. Those publisher details help distinguish the genuine application from a similarly named news site or an unrelated player. Check the store available on the device you own.
For a practical setup note, record the device, store listing, developer and selected programme mode. If the phone app works but another screen does not, compare those two exact applications and their current support information. A shared NHK logo cannot establish that every device model has the same controls or supported app version.
Programme windows and reception routes remain separate
The current Android description advertises live television/radio and seven-day catch-up, alongside on-demand material. Use the actual programme page for the item you want rather than turning that service description into a permanent availability guarantee for every programme. A past screenshot does not establish that a particular episode remains accessible.
For WORLD PREMIUM, the official reception page asks for the area and country or region when finding an operator. Follow that route for the Japanese-language overseas service. Do not infer your operator or its conditions from a WORLD-JAPAN app listing aimed at another mode of viewing.
A clear enquiry names WORLD-JAPAN or WORLD PREMIUM, the programme, the desired language and the viewing country. This gives another person enough information to address the right service without treating an international app, a Japanese television channel and every domestic NHK programme as one interchangeable subscription.
Questions answered
Does the app’s multilingual interface mean every live programme has all those audio tracks?
No. The app contains several kinds of content. Inspect the exact live, radio or on-demand item and its own available tracks.
