REplay culture: find the event beyond the television schedule

Locate LSM’s online cultural transmissions and distinguish full recordings from clips and audio items.

The television guide is not the whole cultural offering

REplay’s official FAQ describes cultural live transmissions and other material that is not necessarily shown on LTV1 or LTV7. If you heard about an online performance but cannot find it in the linear guide, search the event rather than assuming the television channel was wrong.

Write down the event name, participants and date. A broadcaster’s short article announcing the performance can help establish the original title. Keep a translated description as a second clue, especially when the event title is Latvian and a general search returns similarly named concerts from other years.

Choose watching or listening deliberately

REplay brings video and audio into the same public-media environment. A radio interview with a musician may appear alongside performance-related video. The audio item can be useful preparation, but it is not the recording of the concert you intended to watch.

Inspect the result type, duration and description. A short introduction, a full event, a programme segment and an audio conversation make different demands on the viewer’s time. For an evening plan, choose the full item explicitly and keep the surrounding article as context rather than treating both as duplicate video links.

A live transmission may not become a recording

The FAQ says most live transmissions can be watched later, with some live-only exceptions. Do not assume that a working live page is a promise of permanent replay. If the beginning matters, check the current event information before deciding to arrive late and catch up afterwards.

After an event, use its date and exact title to look for the recording. If only extracts are offered, choose whether they satisfy your purpose. Several short clips may document highlights without containing the full performance, its introductions or its final sequence.

Keep the cultural record with its context

For a personal shortlist, retain the official event page, displayed recording title and the parts that interest you. A soloist’s name can recur in different programmes; attach it to this event’s date. If you take notes, distinguish the work performed from the broadcaster’s programme title.

Check availability again near the planned session. REplay identifies a last-chance section for material approaching the end of its window. That is a useful planning cue, not a reason to assume all remaining recordings have one shared expiry rule or an unrestricted reuse licence.
