Channel identity

SRF info is a selected information programme
SRG describes SRF info as an information service built from programmes and reports already shown on SRF 1 or SRF zwei, alongside occasional live transmissions of national importance. It is therefore a distinct curated channel, rather than a complete simultaneous duplicate of either of those services.
If a viewer sees a bulletin again, compare the programme title and original edition before reporting a frozen live service. Repetition can be part of SRF info’s intended programme. The appearance of familiar presenters or pictures does not establish that the broadcast is happening at the moment the viewer opened the channel.
A special live event changes the kind of appointment
The service’s occasional live transmissions need their own event and date. A continuous news-channel label is not enough to identify a parliamentary, national or sporting appointment. Use the actual current programme notice when the purpose is to follow an event rather than a repeated news edition.
SRF’s sports explanation also describes short-notice programme changes caused by interrupted events, changing daily schedules and editorial decisions. That explanation does not promise any particular event on SRF info. It shows why a summer programme expectation should be checked against the selected day’s actual SRF channel listing.
Satellite reception is not an all-programmes rights promise
SRG’s broadcast reception information says SRF info can be received partly without encryption, because its own productions have a different rights context. The word partly matters. A working picture during one self-produced news programme should not become a claim that every later item will use the same access conditions.
Keep the exact receiving route when investigating a change from pictures to an access notice. The channel name can remain the same while a particular programme has different conditions. Check current official reception and programme information before assuming the antenna moved, buying another receiver or treating an old blanket description of the service as definitive.
Match the original edition and the channel airing
A useful recording note distinguishes the programme’s original date from the SRF info airing at which it was encountered. A news repeat can still be valuable, but it should not be mistaken for a newer update simply because it appears in today’s running channel. Preserve any visible programme and episode details.
For a specific enquiry, state SRF info, the programme or live event, observed time and receiving service. Add the intended live or replay format and your actual viewing location. A Swiss channel group or a generic SRF account does not establish the selected channel appointment, the recording’s date or the access conditions of every programme.
