VRT Canvas is a television service within a wider organization
VRT’s own content information distinguishes VRT Canvas from VRT 1, Ketnet and the Sporza sports brand. Canvas has its own documentary, culture, current-affairs and other programme selection. A general VRT or Sporza attribution is therefore not enough to establish the linear television channel for a particular item.
Keep Canvas in a programme request when that is the intended service. A search result carrying VRT NWS editorial branding can concern a programme also shown through VRT MAX. The newsroom, digital platform and linear channel provide different identity fields; one should not silently replace another in the saved appointment.
Terzake is a specific programme with dated editions
VRT’s January 2026 presenter announcement identifies Terzake on VRT Canvas and VRT MAX. A change of presenter described in that notice does not create another channel or a different programme title. Use Terzake and the edition date when looking for a complete current-affairs broadcast.
An interview excerpt from the programme can have its own headline and shorter running time. A viewer wanting the whole discussion should inspect the episode entry rather than saving the first short VRT news video about its subject. The familiar studio or presenter is useful context but does not establish the recording’s complete scope.
A documentary strand and an individual series are different labels
The broadcaster’s autumn 2026 Canvas announcement describes VRT Documania as a period highlighting documentaries and separately identifies productions such as Drugsdelta and Poorten van Europa. The umbrella label and the individual programme title should both be read correctly: a season of documentary programming is not one continuous film.
Retain the series, episode and original title when a documentary is the main interest. A promotional compilation can include material from several productions without providing any complete episode. An advance autumn announcement also needs the selected programme’s current appointment before it becomes a reliable household reminder.
The dated guide supplies the actual linear sequence
VRT MAX publishes a dedicated Canvas television guide containing dated programmes, season and episode information where applicable. The same broader guide interface also links other television and radio services. Confirm that Canvas remains the selected channel before using a time from another column or navigation result.
For a complete note, record VRT Canvas, programme, episode or edition date, and live television or on-demand recording. Add the receiving route if another provider is being asked about it. The current broadcaster’s programme notice is more useful than a generic Belgian category or the assumption that every item associated with a VRT editorial brand is shown simultaneously on VRT 1.
The saved channel field should remain Canvas when a programme page also credits VRT MAX.
