RTB’s named services should stay separate

RTB's official television navigation distinguishes RTB Télévision, Télé Zénith, RTB3 Langues nationales and RTB Guiriko. Preserve the service named in a programme announcement instead of shortening the whole group to RTB. A number or regional name can carry useful editorial identity, even when several services share the same parent broadcaster.

The RTB3 language label is particularly useful for a household seeking national-language material. It does not establish that each programme on every RTB service has selectable tracks in all languages. Keep the specific programme and actual spoken-language requirement with the channel, rather than inferring them from the broadcaster's country or general public-service role.

A bulletin’s edition label and date identify the recording

RTB's television archive publishes different dated Journal Télévisé editions with clock labels in their titles. Those labels help distinguish bulletins from the same day; they should not be mistaken for the upload time or evidence that a replay is live now. A later bulletin can contain updates instead of being a duplicate of an earlier recording.

Retain the complete edition title and broadcast date when sharing a news programme. A written report or short video about one story is not necessarily the full bulletin. If the viewer remembers a location or speaker, add that information to the edition request rather than replacing the bulletin identity with a generic search for Burkina news.

Faso Academy needs its year and competition stage

RTB's current programme material distinguishes Faso Academy semi-final coverage from quarter-final deliberations. A production name alone is therefore insufficient when a family wants a particular appearance or result. Keep the year, contestant or group and the published competition stage when looking for the complete programme.

A performance clip, deliberation and later news interview can feature the same participant while offering different material. Establish whether the viewer wants the performance, the result sequence or a discussion after the event. A familiar title in the archive does not automatically identify an active voting period or the next live round.

Sport magazines and full events need different evidence

RTB also lists Actu Sports, Intégral Foot and Vélozine alongside cycling event references. A sports discussion or stage magazine can explain an event without being continuous coverage of the match or cycling stage. Keep the competition, date, stage or fixture and actual programme format before treating a result as the complete event.

Use Africa/Ouagadougou for an appointment explicitly expressed in local Burkinabè time, with the actual date before conversion abroad. An undated programme-of-the-day area may retain older items, so prefer the edition's own date. These broadcaster references identify services and productions; they do not establish IPTV Europe carriage or distribution rights for every sporting event.

Questions answered

Does RTB3’s language identity mean every RTB programme has all audio tracks?

No. Identify the actual service, production and spoken language. Programme presentation and selectable tracks are separate details.

What identifies a Faso Academy appearance?

Keep the year, participant and stage, such as a quarter-final deliberation or semi-final programme, as well as the edition date.

Is a Vélozine entry necessarily the full cycling stage?

No. A magazine and continuous event coverage are different formats. Check the programme description and dated stage announcement.
