Older ORTB references need the current SRTB context
SRTB's own April 2025 announcement explains the transition from the former ORTB organisation and identifies Bénin TV as the general public television channel's new name. Its institutional profile separately names Bénin TV, Bénin TV Alafia and Bénin TV Junior alongside radio services. Keep the actual television service when comparing an older ORTB guide entry with a newer programme announcement.
A remembered organisational name can help find an archive, but it is not sufficient to establish today's feed. Preserve both the historical label and the programme title while checking the current publisher identification. SRTB also announced a new audiovisual season in October 2026, so the 2025 launch timetable should not be treated as a permanent current schedule.
Bénin TV Junior is a specific children’s destination
The broadcaster's Junior description identifies a separate youth-oriented service. Its 2025 programme announcement names productions including Éveil magique, Le Dico Déchaîné and Quiz Juniors. These give a parent or teacher concrete titles to search rather than assuming that every Bénin TV entry provides the same children's programme at the same moment.
Keep the actual production and episode or topic when looking for educational material. A quiz extract, a full episode and a channel trailer are different items. An older launch description can identify a remembered programme, while a current episode page or dated channel listing is needed for a classroom activity or viewing appointment.
Bonjour le Bénin can require a medium as well as a title
SRTB's announcement uses Bonjour le Bénin for morning programming in its television and Radio Bénin descriptions. That shared wording makes the medium important: a radio discussion is not automatically the complete television version. The institutional list also distinguishes Radio Bénin Alafia from Bénin TV Alafia despite their related names.
For a guest appearance, retain television or radio, the service, subject and edition date. Language descriptions attached to Radio Bénin Alafia should not become a list of selectable audio tracks for Bénin TV. A French navigation menu likewise does not establish the spoken language of every programme in the group's wider offering.
Use a dated Beninese programme reference
For a current appointment, begin with the named SRTB service and its latest programme announcement rather than a launch-season clock copied into an old directory. Use Africa/Porto-Novo when the listing is explicitly in Beninese local time, and convert the actual calendar date for a household abroad.
For replay, save the original production and edition date separately from the article or upload time. A general broadcaster rebrand does not establish every programme's rights, availability or device features. These primary references identify Benin's public television names and productions; they do not establish IPTV Europe carriage, overseas access to each episode or an entitlement through a different provider.
Questions answered
Why might an older guide say ORTB rather than Bénin TV?
SRTB’s 2025 announcement explains the organisational change and new Bénin TV identity. Match the actual service and programme, rather than assuming every old label remains current.
Is Bénin TV Junior the same feed as general Bénin TV?
SRTB lists it separately as a youth-oriented television service. Keep Junior in the channel request.
What extra detail is useful for Bonjour le Bénin?
Specify the television or radio service, guest or subject and edition date because the broadcaster uses the title in both media descriptions.
