Bonaire: start with the actual MiTV package
Caribbean Netherlands combines three island entries, so begin a television enquiry with Bonaire, Sint Eustatius or Saba. The government telecom directory identifies Telbo and Flamingo TV on Bonaire, Eutel on Sint Eustatius and Satel on Saba. A shared territory label does not identify one installation network.
On Bonaire, Telbo calls its television service MiTV. Its basic offering mixes local and regional channels with Dutch and Latin American programming, while optional packages cover interests such as films and sport. Ask for the named channel and the applicable MiTV package. A Dutch-language preference and a request for a Bonaire community programme can lead to different selections.
Sint Eustatius: EU-TV belongs to Eutel’s local service
Eutel identifies itself as the Sint Eustatius telecommunications company and dates its introduction of IPTV to 2019. Its bundles page names that television product EU-TV and describes a combination of telephone, internet and television services. This is a particular local product, rather than a synonym for every European television channel.
When checking a Statia home, retain EU-TV in the enquiry and ask which current bundle and equipment apply at that address. The published bundles page also contains a reference to a 2021 allowance, so use current customer confirmation for terms and billing. That old allowance should not become a present-day price promise.
Saba: distinguish the connection from the channel selection
Satel’s current website describes Saba home internet, fibre and telephone services. Those connection products establish a local support route, but they do not themselves supply a current television channel list. Ask separately how the intended television service is delivered and which subscriptions it needs at the particular property.
There is genuine broadcasting history to preserve: NPO’s April 2020 educational initiative named Satel on Saba, Eutel on Statia, and Telbo and Flamingo TV on Bonaire as local routes for BVN programming. It included Schooltv and NPO Zapp material during school closures. That dated initiative is useful identification evidence, not a continuing daily school timetable.
NPO Start access and BVN’s scheduled closure need separate checks
NPO’s current help explains that almost its entire online offering can be viewed on Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba when the connection has the appropriate Netherlands or island IP registration. It also identifies sports-rights exceptions. If a programme is blocked, give the local internet provider the actual error and ask it to check the registered country code.
The Dutch government approved the end of BVN and BVN Online for 31 December 2026. Plan future Dutch viewing around the specific NPO Start programme and its conditions, rather than assuming an old BVN channel remains. Keep the original programme date when setting a reminder; use the actual island’s calendar location, such as America/Kralendijk for Bonaire.
Questions answered
Does EU-TV mean a general European channel package?
Here it is the name Eutel uses for its Sint Eustatius television product. Ask Eutel for the current local selection.
Does NPO Start offer every sports event on the three islands?
No. NPO identifies sports-rights exceptions despite broad online access for the BES islands. Check the particular event notice.
Will an old BVN listing remain a permanent Dutch viewing route?
The approved termination date for BVN and BVN Online is 31 December 2026. Recheck the programme’s subsequent official route.
