RTC is the organisation, while TCV identifies television
Rádiotelevisão Caboverdiana’s website separates TCV television from RCV radio. Keep those letters in the programme request. RTC is the wider organisation, and an RTC page can contain television video, radio audio and written reporting within the same navigation.
This is more than a naming detail. A live RCV player is an audio service, even when a TCV menu is visible elsewhere on the page. Before troubleshooting a missing picture, check the selected service and media type. The presence of a shared broadcaster logo does not make every item a television stream.
Jornal da Noite needs its TCV or RCV label
The RTC homepage lists dated Jornal da Noite editions for TCV and also Jornal da Noite material for RCV. Keep the service initials and date together. The shared Portuguese title describes an evening-news format, but it does not prove that the television and radio programmes are the same recording.
A family seeking the complete televised bulletin should choose the TCV edition and inspect the actual video. A written report about one story, or a radio bulletin on the same date, may be useful without replacing the complete television programme. Save the exact edition rather than relying only on its generic title.
Cultural programmes and island stories benefit from local context
TCV’s site publishes programmes including Show da Manhã and a cultural magazine, alongside reports from different islands and communities. Retain the programme title, locality and date when looking for a particular interview or event. A report from São Nicolau and a carnival feature from São Vicente should not be reduced to one broad Cabo Verde search term.
For cultural performances, check whether the selected item is a news report, an interview, a short performance or a full event recording. A story promoting a festival does not establish that the complete festival is televised or permanently available on demand.
Programme language and a date-specific reminder are separate checks
A Portuguese website description does not establish the spoken language or subtitle options of every programme. If Cabo Verdean Creole or Portuguese audio is important, inspect the actual recording and keep that requirement explicit. A translated interface cannot create a second soundtrack.
For a live reminder, retain the broadcaster’s date and use Atlantic/Cape_Verde when a calendar asks for the originating location. If checking another provider, request TCV by name, provide an example programme or bulletin edition, and state whether you need live television or a recording. A country flag or an RTC umbrella entry does not establish its radio and television material together.
Questions answered
Are TCV and RCV two names for the same stream?
No. TCV identifies television and RCV identifies radio within RTC’s shared media site.
How do I find the televised Jornal da Noite?
Choose the TCV edition and its date, then check the actual video. The site also publishes radio editions with the same programme title.
