Grenada TV: GBN television, radio and local programme editions

Understand GBN’s television service and its different receiving numbers while keeping radio stations and dated programme recordings separate.

Several GBN receiving numbers do not mean several TV stations

Grenada Broadcasting Network describes one GBN television station and separately lists television transmission channels 7, 11 and 20. Those receiving numbers should not be counted as three different television programmes or station identities. Keep GBN TV as the broadcaster and check the relevant reception arrangement for your location.

The organisation also operates radio services, including Hott FM, Klassic FM and GBN Gospel. A combined network directory therefore contains more than television. Check whether you selected a video player or an audio service before treating sound without a picture as a television playback problem.

Nightly News and discussion programmes need the edition

GBN identifies local productions including Nightly News, Beyond The Headlines, G’Morning Grenada and To The Point. Retain the programme title and edition date when looking for a particular report or conversation. A morning interview is not automatically part of the full evening bulletin.

The broadcaster’s institutional page lists transmission and repeat slots for programmes. Check those details against the current guide before making a new appointment. A published repeat time describes a planned television rerun; it is different from a promise that the whole programme remains in an unlimited online archive.

Carriacou and Petite Martinique give a local reporting context

GBN’s institutional description refers to Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique within its television coverage context. Keep the locality in a report or event request. A general Grenada search can surface national summaries when the desired item is an interview or programme about a particular island community.

The locality in a story does not prove a separate continuous regional television feed. Identify the actual programme and media item. A short field report, an audio discussion and a complete television special can address the same community while providing different material and running times.

A live-sports page needs the actual event notice

GBN has a live-sports destination alongside its general television player. A page heading by itself does not establish which contest is available, whether it is live or recorded, or where it may be viewed. Match the competition, participants and date to the current broadcaster announcement.

For another provider, request GBN TV and an example programme or event, with your viewing location and intended device. Separate a live-feed request from a particular recording. For calendar planning, retain the Grenadian date and use America/Grenada as the originating location. A network badge, receiving number and country category cannot establish the complete programme library or every event’s overseas rights.

Questions answered

Are GBN channels 7, 11 and 20 three separate stations?

GBN describes one television station transmitted through those receiving channels. Check the reception arrangement rather than counting them as separate TV services.

Does a programme’s repeat slot guarantee an online replay?

No. A scheduled television rerun and an on-demand recording are different routes. Check the actual recording.
