Rai 1, Rai 2 and Rai 3 are separate services
The number is part of the channel identity. Rai 1, Rai 2 and Rai 3 should not be merged into a generic Rai feed when matching a programme. Rai News 24 is another named service. Retain the full label in a channel request or playback report, including any regional detail attached to the entry.
This helps when the programme guide appears correct in one place but the picture comes from another service. Write down what actually appears, with its date and time, before changing global guide settings. A familiar Rai logo cannot resolve the difference on its own.
Use RaiPlay’s live and programme routes deliberately
RaiPlay’s live area lists the numbered services separately. An on-demand programme page is a different route from joining one of those services mid-schedule. A trailer, a film page, an episode and a live event may all appear under the same broad brand without being the same playable resource.
For recurring shows, keep the episode or broadcast date. For a film, keep the Italian title and release identity where available. A translated international title may help a reader recognize the work, but it should not replace the title used by the actual broadcaster catalogue.
Dubbing and subtitles are different version choices
An Italian dub replaces the spoken performance with an Italian-language track. Original audio with Italian subtitles retains the original performance and adds translated text. These can meet very different household or learning needs, even when both are described casually as watching in Italian.
Inspect the actual player and programme details for the version offered. A subtitle option visible for one RaiPlay title does not establish the same track on a live distribution feed or on every other episode. Keep the chosen track and the playback surface with a report about a missing language option.
Do not confuse an editorial page with access
A broadcaster’s programme page can remain useful as a title or episode reference even when a particular video is unavailable through the route being used. Account, territorial and publication conditions belong to the actual service and item. Re-entering access details is not a substitute for identifying which resource is intended.
