Use the current UTRK identity while recognising older KTRK references
The national broadcaster’s present official website uses UTRK. Its own archive still contains material published under KTRK, including historical channel announcements. An old acronym in an archived article is therefore a clue to the publication’s context, rather than a reason to assume the current site or channel has a different identity.
When making a new viewing enquiry, use the name displayed on the present broadcaster page and include the programme. Keep an older title or acronym only when identifying a specific historical recording. This prevents an archive search from becoming an unintended request for an obsolete application or former service description.
Ala-Too 24, Sport, Music and Balastan need separate entries
UTRK’s official branding page names Ala-Too 24, Sport, Music and Balastan alongside the main UTRK identity. The current online-TV route also identifies Ala-Too 24. These labels should remain intact when matching a list rather than being merged into one general Kyrgyzstan entry.
Choose the service that the programme announcement actually names. A song performance on one programme is not proof that the whole music service is selected, and a sports report on a news programme is different from a complete event on the sports service. A recognisable badge alone does not establish the schedule.
Regional branding identifies a local context
The same official page includes UTRK regional names such as Batken, Naryn, Osh, Talas, Jalal-Abad, Issyk-Kul and Chuy. Retain the locality when looking for a local report. A regional brand does not by itself establish that every programme is offered as a separate continuous internet feed.
For a local story, identify whether you want the full regional bulletin, a particular report or its written article. These formats can share a headline while containing different amounts of information. Save the title and date together, especially where the same subject is covered again in a later national edition.
Language and live-versus-archive status need their own checks
Historical Ala-Too 24 launch material describes Kyrgyz and Russian news output. Use the actual current bulletin to identify the language and edition you want instead of inferring that every recording has two selectable tracks. A bilingual website is also different from bilingual video audio.
For a live reminder, use the date-specific programme listing and Asia/Bishkek when a calendar asks for the originating location. For replay, retain the original edition date. If checking another television service, provide the full UTRK service or regional label and an example programme, then test the intended item on your device and from your viewing location.
Questions answered
Why do some official archive pages say KTRK?
The broadcaster’s archive retains older publications. Use the present UTRK name for a current service enquiry and the old wording only when identifying historical material.
Does a regional UTRK brand prove a separate live internet channel?
No. Check the actual current viewing route and programme. Regional identity and continuous-stream availability are separate questions.
