TVM and RNM identify different public media

Madagascar's official government publications distinguish Télévision Malagasy, or TVM, from Radio Nationale Malagasy, or RNM, within ORTM. The names can appear together in an announcement of a public broadcast, but television pictures and radio audio remain different formats. Keep the specific service rather than using TVM-RNM as if it were one selectable television channel.

A dated government announcement about a joint transmission establishes that particular occasion. It does not establish a permanent live web player or a second television channel. When locating a remembered broadcast, record whether the family watched TVM pictures, heard RNM audio or read a government summary published after the event.

Kolo TV is a separate Malagasy broadcaster

Kolo's own site identifies Kolo TV/FM and provides distinct live, replay and listening routes. It publishes named productions alongside television news. Keep Kolo in a programme request instead of treating every Madagascar news video as TVM. The country and the subject can match while the producer and complete programme are different.

For a cultural production, retain the actual title shown by the publisher, such as Tables de Mada or Ankitsimpo, and its edition information. An older programme-description page can help identify the production, but its publication date should not be mistaken for the latest episode or a current transmission time.

Ny Vaovao and Le Journal preserve the bulletin’s language identity

Kolo's programme descriptions identify Ny Vaovao as its Malagasy-language news and Le Journal as the French version. Its current replay listings continue to publish dated entries under those names. This is more precise than asking only for Kolo news or assuming that the French website interface determines the spoken language.

Keep the programme name and edition date when choosing a bulletin. Two entries on the same date can be different language presentations, not duplicate uploads of one interchangeable video. A household seeking Malagasy speech should not have to infer that requirement from a flag, and a French-language extract is not automatically a substitute for the complete Malagasy edition.

Match the replay date before arranging a live appointment

Kolo's replay area combines recent dated productions with older programme references. Check the edition's own date and format before sharing a result. A category page can contain a description, a complete programme and a short extract; the first result or the oldest popular item may not be the bulletin the viewer intended.

For a live programme expressed in Malagasy local time, use Indian/Antananarivo and the actual calendar date when converting for Europe. Keep RNM or Kolo FM radio separate from television playback questions. These government and broadcaster references establish programme and service context; they do not establish IPTV Europe carriage, universal overseas playback or support for every device on a publisher's live route.

Questions answered

Are TVM and RNM two names for the same television channel?

No. Official Malagasy publications distinguish TVM television from RNM radio within the public broadcasting organisation.

Which Kolo bulletin names distinguish Malagasy and French editions?

Kolo describes Ny Vaovao as Malagasy news and Le Journal as the French version. Keep the original title and date.

Does an old programme-description page identify the latest episode?

No. Use it to identify the production, then select the actual dated replay or current programme listing.
