ORTM1 and ORTM2 should remain distinct
Mali's Office de Radio et Télévision site publishes separate ORTM1 and ORTM2 programme references. Keep the numeral when looking for a production instead of treating the organisation's acronym as one interchangeable television feed. A national broadcaster name, a channel identity and the receiver position used at home are different pieces of information.
The publisher's current video listings identify news editions and named programmes with the originating channel. Use that full label when saving a favourite or sharing a replay. A cultural or national subject can appear on more than one service without establishing that the whole programme, presentation or transmission time is identical.
Kibaru and other production names need their edition details
ORTM's published material includes Kibaru references on ORTM2 and named programmes such as Kènèya Jiginye on ORTM1. Preserve these original production names when searching, together with the date or episode number. A generic translation or a search for Mali television can select a related article rather than the intended programme.
Do not treat a production's language-associated title as a complete menu of selectable audio tracks. If the household requires a particular spoken edition, retain that requirement and check the actual programme description. A health discussion, cultural feature or public-affairs programme can have extracts and complete editions; the subject alone does not establish which one has been selected.
A television archive area can also contain radio material
The ORTM site lists journal parlé recordings explicitly identified with the national radio alongside television programme references. This is a practical reason to inspect the individual item rather than deciding from an archive page heading. A recording can be published by a television-and-radio organisation while being intended for listening only.
For a missing-picture question, first retain the selected service and medium. A spoken radio bulletin and a television Journal Télévisé can report the same event with different duration and presentation. A successful audio item is not evidence that the requested picture programme is available, and a radio timestamp should not be substituted for a television edition's identity.
Clock-labelled bulletins still need the full date
ORTM's listings use clock labels in dated bulletin titles and distinguish different news editions. Preserve the channel, edition label and date together. A title containing a familiar time can identify an archived programme without saying that it is live now; an upload timestamp may also differ from the original transmission.
Use Africa/Bamako when a current appointment is explicitly in Malian local time, then convert the actual date for a viewer abroad. Keep historical season announcements separate from today's guide and identify a complete edition rather than a short report. These publisher references establish Malian programme and service context; they do not verify IPTV Europe carriage, universal language tracks or rights through another subscription.
Questions answered
Can I omit 1 or 2 from an ORTM programme request?
Keep the numeral. The broadcaster publishes separate channel references, and a production should stay attached to its named service.
Does every item in ORTM’s video or news area have television pictures?
No. The site also publishes national-radio journal parlé recordings. Check the individual medium and service.
What identifies a specific Kibaru edition?
Retain the original title, ORTM service, date and any edition or episode information rather than a generic Mali news label.
