Viewing location
Radio Norfolk and television retransmission are separate services
Norfolk Island Regional Council describes a broadcasting context that includes Radio Norfolk and offshore television and radio services retransmitted to the island. Keep the medium and programme source in a viewing enquiry. A local radio station and an imported television feed are different media services even where infrastructure is shared.
The council’s service information also distinguishes television broadcasting from Radio Norfolk’s operation. A radio logo or local station page should not be counted as a separate local entertainment television channel. Identify the actual broadcaster carried by the television arrangement before asking for a programme or replay.
A reception notice needs its issue date and affected service
The council publishes television and radio reception updates, including notices about equipment faults and temporary arrangements. Read the notice date and scope. An archived repair announcement should not be treated as a present outage or a permanent description of how every programme is delivered.
If a problem affects broadcast reception, keep the receiving route, affected channel and observed message. A local signal issue is different from an internet player’s account or programme restriction. A working website or radio service does not establish that the separate television feed is playing at that address.
Council proceedings have a specific video route
Current council meeting notices distinguish website streaming from a Radio Norfolk audio broadcast. Someone following complete proceedings can therefore choose the official session video or listen to the discussion. A written agenda or meeting highlights article is another separate format.
Keep the meeting date and agenda item when returning to a session. A short report about a decision can be useful without reproducing the entire proceedings. An archived live-labelled video remains a recording after the meeting ends, so check its date and player state before sharing it as current.
Local and mainland schedules need their stated clock basis
Norfolk Island’s local-time context should not be replaced automatically with the clock of a mainland source channel. Use the programme’s stated outlet and time basis. For an explicitly local appointment, retain the actual date and use Pacific/Norfolk as the originating calendar location.
If checking another television provider, give the actual imported channel or local video programme rather than only Norfolk TV. State the desired episode or meeting, live-or-recorded requirement, device and viewing location. A local radio schedule, retransmission notice and council webcast do not establish the same continuous television feed or complete on-demand catalogue.
Questions answered
Is Radio Norfolk the same service as the island’s retransmitted TV?
No. Keep radio and the actual television programme source separate.
Does a meeting-highlights article provide complete proceedings?
Not necessarily. Use the dated official session recording when the full discussion is required.
