Keep the five Nepal Television names distinct
The official Nepal Television site lists Nepal Television, NTV Plus, NTV News, NTV Kohalpur and NTV Itahari. A request for “NTV” can therefore leave several possibilities open. The national service, a news channel and a regional channel are not interchangeable merely because the same initials appear in their names.
Write down the full name shown on the official selector and pair it with an example programme. This is particularly useful for regional reporting, where the desired bulletin may belong to Kohalpur or Itahari rather than the main national schedule. A generic Nepal category in a player does not settle that distinction.
Regional programmes need a regional channel check
Kohalpur and Itahari identify regional television services within the network. If a family wants local reporting from a particular part of Nepal, begin with the relevant service’s own page or schedule. Do not assume that a central national channel will repeat every regional programme, or that setting a device’s location will automatically select the preferred bulletin.
For an archived item, keep the regional name together with its broadcast date. A report can also appear as a web story or a social video, so distinguish the complete bulletin from a short segment extracted from it.
Nepal Television and NTTV are different kinds of list
Nepal Telecom publishes an NTTV channel list. That is a distributor’s package list, while the Nepal Television website describes the broadcaster’s own services. The two answer different questions: one identifies what a particular television package lists, and the other identifies the network and its programmes.
Finding a channel in a telecom table does not establish that another provider includes it, or that a broadcaster’s website offers precisely the same feed. Check the current package, device and channel entry relevant to your own viewing route. Keep any package name separate from the broadcaster name in your notes.
Check the actual video, language and programme time
The official network pages describe HD distribution and digital viewing routes. An HD channel label describes a feed format; it does not make every historical recording a newly produced HD programme. Assess the picture of the actual item, especially when moving between a live channel and older material.
Nepal’s programme clock should also be checked against the date of the event and your viewing location. Use Asia/Kathmandu when a calendar asks for a time-zone identifier. Retain the original published programme time, then make a separate local reminder. For language needs, inspect the programme itself rather than treating a Nepal label as proof of a particular soundtrack or subtitle option.
