Recognize the broadcaster without merging the channels

The current Slovak public-broadcaster website uses STVR and presents Jednotka, Dvojka, 24 and Šport as separate television choices. Older artwork, saved lists or programme references can still contain RTVS. Recognizing that history helps locate the intended broadcaster, but it does not make all its channels one feed.

Retain the channel name with a programme request. The 24 label is a service identity, not a subscription duration, and Šport identifies a particular broadcaster service rather than every sports event. The full name avoids ambiguity when an international list uses shortened labels.

The television schedule and online player are different evidence

STVR’s current programme and live pages expose channel-specific entries. Some schedule items explicitly state that they are not broadcast online. A programme being in the television guide therefore does not establish that the web route can play it.

Before diagnosing a missing item as a network problem, compare the intended television programme with the actual online entry. A short clip, an archive result and the live channel can have different conditions. Re-entering account details cannot establish an online right absent from the selected programme.

Use the programme’s actual language and access symbols

The official guide identifies features such as hidden subtitles and audio commentary for relevant items. Those labels belong to the programme and route described; they should not become a claim about all Slovak television or every app. Inspect what the chosen item actually offers.

An imported work can have Slovak dubbing, original speech or text options depending on its version. Menu language remains separate. If a household needs a particular spoken or accessibility edition, include it with the title rather than assuming a country setting supplies it.

A clear Slovak viewing report

For a schedule problem, provide STVR channel, title, date and the programme actually visible. For an online restriction, retain the exact item state or message. For an app question, add the device and app version, keeping private access details out of screenshots.

Slovakia and Slovenia are separate countries with different public broadcasters and languages. The similar English names should not lead to an RTV Slovenija feed being offered as a substitute for Jednotka or Dvojka. The broadcaster identity is the decisive part of that comparison.

Questions answered

Are STVR and an old RTVS label proof of two unrelated broadcasters?

The current site uses STVR; older references may retain RTVS. Match the actual channel and programme.

Does a television guide entry guarantee web playback?

No. STVR’s guide can explicitly mark material as unavailable online.

Can Slovenia’s public channels replace a Slovak channel request?

No. They belong to a different country and broadcaster context.
