Retain SNTV’s full publisher identity
Somali National Television's site identifies the broadcaster as SNTV and Telefishinka Qaranka Soomaaliyeed. Keep that publisher with the programme title when locating a Somali broadcast. A general Somali-language search can also find other broadcasters, shared clips and written reporting, none of which should automatically be treated as the same national television service.
The website separates programme material from news and regional-reporting categories. A place name in a headline can help identify the subject, but it is not proof that a separate local channel has been selected. Retain the programme, original publisher and edition date before deciding that two results represent the same broadcast.
Original programme titles make archive requests more precise
SNTV's programme navigation lists names including Kulanka Toddobaadka, Madasha Dhallinyarada and Qalin iyo Qoraal. Its Kulanka Toddobaadka archive contains dated programme references from earlier years. These original names are useful for recognising a remembered production, without treating an archive category as a current weekly transmission schedule.
Keep the publisher's Somali spelling and add a subject or guest if known. A programme title can be shortened or spelled differently in a shared clip, making a copied original title useful for searching. Check the individual entry's year: a familiar presenter, topic or category heading does not establish that the edition is recent.
A Dood Furan archive illustrates video versus audio
SNTV's archived Dood Furan pages include a 2018 discussion published with a video-viewing reference and a 2021 financial-accountability discussion published with an audio recording. These are dated examples of different media within the same broadcaster archive. A result under a television publisher can therefore still be an audio-only item.
For a viewer seeking the complete on-screen discussion, establish the format before treating absent pictures as a playback fault. For a research or listening request, the audio edition may be appropriate, but retain its subject and original date. A later article summarising the same issue is another distinct item and should not be labelled the complete programme.
Language, region and programme time need separate fields
SNTV's English-News category identifies an editorial website route; it does not establish English audio or selectable translation for every programme. Likewise, regional news categories under Gobollada organise reporting rather than documenting a set of interchangeable live television feeds. Keep the actual spoken-language need, place and programme in a viewing request.
For an appointment explicitly expressed in Somali local time, use Africa/Mogadishu with the full date before converting for a viewer abroad. For an archive, distinguish the original programme date from the article or upload time. These broadcaster references establish programme and publication context; they do not establish IPTV Europe carriage, current broadcast appointments for older productions or overseas rights to every video.
Questions answered
Does an SNTV archive result always contain television pictures?
No. Its archive includes video references and audio-only programme recordings. Check the individual item’s format.
Does the English-News category mean all SNTV programmes have English audio?
No. Website edition and spoken programme language are separate details.
Does a regional news category establish a separate live channel?
No. Keep the region as story context and confirm the actual broadcaster service and programme separately.
