Viewing locations
Keep the island subject and the service location together
Saint Martin and Sint Maarten share an island, but a programme about the whole island does not establish that every television subscription works on both sides. Use the actual viewing address and the broadcaster’s full name when comparing an offer. This is especially useful for households moving between Marigot and Dutch St. Maarten.
IOTV describes its mission as addressing Saint-Martin in its entirety. Its website organises reporting by places including Marigot, Grand-Case, Sint-Maarten and Saint-Barthélemy. Those editorial subjects explain what a report concerns. They are separate from the territory, network and account requirements of whichever operator carries the channel.
TelTV+ has a specific Dutch St. Maarten restriction
TelEm presents TelTV+ with Lite, Basic and Premium plans and separate entertainment, movie and sport add-ons. Its service terms say supported devices operate on Dutch St. Maarten and that the streams and channels are authorised for use within that territory. Keep that condition attached to any package comparison.
Ask TelEm about the exact channel, plan and intended device at the Dutch-side address. The operator describes pause, rewind and recording features, but a feature description is not confirmation that every programme is available as a complete recording. Its terms also distinguish performance on the TelEm network from use through another internet provider. Check those points before arranging a particular evening’s viewing.
IOTV’s Headline and Wahapen answer different local requests
IOTV publishes Headline episodes involving Saint-Martin high-school students who investigate and discuss subjects relevant to them. Its dated programme archive includes work by pupils at lycée Robert Weinum. Search by episode subject and publication date when the request is for that particular youth discussion, rather than a general news bulletin.
Wahapen uses a different street-interview format. Examples in the archive include people’s World Cup preferences and a visit around Marigot asking about popular food. A football discussion is a local magazine item, not a match transmission. Keep the programme title with the video, and inspect the actual language and captions rather than inferring them from the surrounding French website.
French-side television needs its own operator check
IOTV’s reception page identifies local operator routes through Canalbox, Dauphin Telecom and Orange Caraïbe. Use the channel name to check the current guide on the relevant subscription, because a historical channel number alone does not settle present package inclusion or replay availability. A saved website video is another distinct viewing route.
Dauphin’s current fibre television page separates Basic+, entertainment, cinema/series and sport offers and states that its offers require a Dauphin fibre connection. Its mobile marketing discusses both sides of the island; that wording should not become a television coverage promise. Give the operator the French-side address and desired channel. For dated reminders retain America/Marigot or America/Lower_Princes, as appropriate to the actual location.
Questions answered
Can a TelTV+ account be assumed to work on the French side?
No. TelEm’s published television terms authorise use within Dutch St. Maarten. Confirm the permitted location directly.
Is a Wahapen World Cup discussion a live football match?
No. It is a local street-interview programme. A live match requires its own event and channel confirmation.
Does Dauphin mobile coverage prove fibre TV eligibility?
No. The published television offers require Dauphin fibre. Check the intended address and selected television package.
