Use the broadcaster’s channel number and original label
Tunisian Television's current site provides a programme guide and a live television area. Its published material distinguishes El Watania 1 and the second service, including a page labelled الثانية مباشر. Preserve the channel number when locating a Tunisian programme rather than shortening both services to Watania or Tunisian TV.
Arabic labels such as الوطنية 1 can appear alongside Latin spellings including El Watania or Wataniya. Keep the publisher's original name in a note and add a familiar transliteration if needed. The numeral and the broadcaster domain help establish identity when a receiver, search result or family member uses a different spelling.
Programme titles and news editions give better search clues
The broadcaster separates news, programmes and series in its navigation. Its programme guide lists named news editions, cultural programmes, drama and sport. A person looking for a Tunisian series should therefore preserve the series title and episode information rather than searching only for a national live channel.
For a bulletin, record whether the desired item is the midday, evening, main or another named edition and include its date. A published news article about the same event is useful reporting but may not be the full bulletin. Keeping the original Arabic title can prevent a translated search phrase from selecting an unrelated programme with a similar English description.
A football entry can include studio coverage as well as play
Tunisian Television's programme material distinguishes football entries from analytical studio programmes. This is a useful distinction when planning a fixture: a studio segment, the match itself and the post-match discussion are separate parts of coverage, even when they appear beside one another in a guide.
Use the teams, competition, date and complete channel to identify a specific match announcement. A football category, an archived report or a general channel logo cannot establish live rights for another fixture. If a programme is postponed or the guide changes, the latest dated broadcaster announcement is more useful than copying a time from an older search preview.
Separate the live appointment from a replay search
For live viewing, begin with the broadcaster's current guide and the identified El Watania service. Use Africa/Tunis when the listing is explicitly in Tunisian local time. Convert the actual date into the viewer's calendar; do not assume a permanent difference from Paris or another European city through seasonal clock changes.
For a series or bulletin archive, retain the original broadcast or episode date separately from the publication time. A live page or application promotion establishes a publisher route, not a measured compatibility result for a particular smart TV. These references do not establish IPTV Europe carriage, subscription access, overseas programme rights or a universal replay window.
Questions answered
Why does the El Watania channel number matter?
The broadcaster distinguishes its services. Retain 1 or 2 and the original Arabic label to avoid selecting a similarly named feed.
Is an analytical football studio programme the full match?
No. Identify the fixture entry and its dated channel announcement separately from pre-match or post-match discussion.
Which time zone belongs with a Tunisian local programme listing?
Use Africa/Tunis for the actual schedule date, then convert it into the viewer’s own calendar zone.
