Discontinued does not mean interchangeable
Dune HD marks Premier 4K Pro as discontinued and points to Dune HD Homatics Box R 4K Plus as a replacement. Those are separate product identities. A replacement recommendation does not make the replacement’s firmware, controls, accessories or instructions suitable for the earlier box.
An existing owner should start with the name printed on the actual device and its installed software. Keep that information with any original purchase or support record. A marketplace photograph or a shortened title can leave out the distinction that matters when selecting a download.
Separate the two software roles
The manufacturer describes Premier 4K Pro as combining Android TV streaming with Dune HD Media Center. This is useful context when diagnosing what is failing. An Android TV application and a media-center file browser can expose different sources and controls, even when both are reached through the same remote.
Write down which interface was open and what was selected. If a local file works but a separate streaming application fails, retain both observations. Do not treat that comparison as proof of a provider outage or as a reason to replace every source entry. A fault needs to be attached to the actual route that produced it.
Use the model’s genuine support route
Start from Dune HD’s page for Premier 4K Pro and follow its own media-center or support links. Read the destination’s model and version scope before applying instructions. Do not select software for Homatics Box R 4K Plus merely because that product appears as the suggested replacement.
Before a change that may remove settings, note the current software and preserve the legitimate private information needed for setup. Do not publish account identifiers or private source URLs as part of a support screenshot. If the model-specific instructions are unclear, ask the manufacturer or relevant software publisher before attempting a destructive update.
Make a replacement decision from a requirements list
List the functions the current installation actually uses: local storage, network files, a particular television app, remote controls and the display or audio route. A new box should be evaluated against that list individually. A familiar brand or similar product name does not establish feature equivalence.
Move the media and service questions into their own checks. Confirm that the desired application is offered for the replacement and that the account format is supported. Then check the local file or network source that matters to you. A migration is complete when the required tasks work on the new route, not merely when its home screen appears.
