Formuler audio: choose TV, HDMI receiver or optical route

Use the connection diagram to identify the decoder and the correct volume control.

Your device checklist in one place

Write the route before changing formats

Formuler’s soundbar and AVR guide separates direct TV HDMI, HDMI through a sound system and an optical sound-system route. The settings depend on which device decodes and plays the audio. A television showing the picture does not identify that decoder.

Name the actual listening equipment and cables. Keep the TV speakers, receiver and optical device as distinct destinations rather than trying every format without knowing where it should be heard.

Start from the documented baseline

Formuler recommends Auto as a useful starting choice. Its examples distinguish model menus, including GTV’s Digital Audio Format route and other MYTVOnline2-era boxes’ HDMI output controls. Follow the current path for the hardware rather than promising identical labels on later software.

For direct TV listening, use the supported TV-friendly output. For a receiver, check its decoding formats before selecting a pass-through route. A format name being listed in the box does not prove the receiver can play it.

Understand RAW passthrough

Formuler describes RAW as passing the original sound to compatible audio equipment for decoding. Its guide says to use the audio device’s remote for volume in that arrangement. A box volume command that no longer changes loudness can therefore reflect the chosen route.

Keep levels moderate and test a familiar passage. Check dialogue, silence and normal volume control separately. A successful simple soundtrack does not certify every multichannel source.

Compare a simpler route when needed

If the receiver arrangement fails, a supported direct-to-TV comparison can help identify whether the changed path matters. Keep the programme fixed and record the result before reintroducing other equipment.

For support, provide the Formuler model, connection order, selected output mode and decoding equipment. This guide explains the manufacturer’s route distinctions without claiming a measured audio test or universal player support.

Questions answered

Why might Formuler volume not change RAW audio?

Formuler says the downstream audio device should control volume when RAW passthrough is selected.

Does every Formuler model use the same sound menu?

No. The manufacturer’s guide gives different model-family paths.
