Choose the property you need to change
Google’s Display and Sound settings cover resolution, text scaling, dynamic range and content frame-rate matching on the supported Chromecast with Google TV and Google TV Streamer models. These controls have different purposes. A small menu label, an HDR mismatch and uneven motion are not one setting problem.
Identify the device and the actual television input before following a screenshot. The HD Chromecast and 4K hardware do not share identical output limits, and a television running Google TV may expose manufacturer-specific menus.
Inspect the received mode
Open All settings, Display and Sound on the Google streaming device. Note the current resolution and range choices. If the television provides input information, inspect that as a separate observation. Output resolution does not establish the original programme’s resolution.
Change one option and replay the same item. Keeping the app, programme and receiver fixed makes a comparison interpretable. Text scaling is useful for menu readability, while television brightness remains a control on the TV itself.
Investigate range rather than merely saturation
Google documents a case where SDR video looks over-saturated because HDR is always enabled; matching content can address that mismatch. Compare a known SDR item and keep the TV picture processing stable. Do not conclude that every vivid image is an HDR error.
For missing HDR output, Google also points to the television input’s enhanced-signal mode, whose name varies by manufacturer. Check the exact TV manual rather than enabling an unrelated picture enhancement.
Keep timing decisions separate
Frame-rate matching concerns the output timing requested for content. It is independent of panel brightness and should be compared using motion in a known source. The app and connected equipment still influence the result.
Leave a short record of the device, input, setting changed and observed outcome. It is enough to guide later troubleshooting without claiming that this documentation-based configuration has been tested on every television.
Questions answered
Where is the TV brightness control on the streaming box?
Google directs you to the TV manufacturer’s instructions for panel brightness.
Does selecting 4K prove the programme is native 4K?
No. It describes the output mode, not the source recording.
