An empty library can be the expected starting point
Kodi’s own explanation says the application does not supply media content or sources. Installing it creates the software environment; it does not provide channels, films or an IPTV Europe account. A clean home screen without programmes is therefore not, by itself, evidence that installation failed.
Start by deciding what you intend to use: your own media files, a legitimate network source or an officially supported add-on for a particular service. These choices have different setup and access requirements. Avoid a tutorial that promises every type of content through one unspecified source.
Choose the official software before adding anything
Use Kodi’s official download page and select the platform that matches the device. The application’s name is not enough when a television, desktop and small single-board computer use different packages. Read the relevant platform instructions and the supported version before installing.
A third-party bundle can include settings or sources chosen by someone else. Its presence is not evidence that the Kodi project supplies that content or that the account has permission to watch it. Keep the software publisher, add-on publisher and content service identities separate.
Work from the actual source
For a local library, know where the files are stored and how the device reaches that location. For a network source, use the documented source format and legitimate access details. For an add-on, use its real publisher and instructions rather than substituting a similarly named item.
Test one known item before importing or rearranging a large library. Note whether Kodi can reach the location, list its contents and play the selected file. Those are different results. If listing succeeds but playback fails, the file or media path needs investigation; replacing every library source may be unnecessary.
Do not treat a library label as permission
A menu category, artwork image or add-on title can describe material without granting access to it. The provenance and terms of the actual source remain important. This guide does not provide channel feeds, redistribute accounts or suggest unofficial bundles.
For help, identify the platform, Kodi version, selected source type and exact error. Redact private server addresses, credentials or account-bearing URLs. A useful question explains what was attempted and at which stage it stopped; it does not need to publish the access itself.
Decide whether Kodi is the appropriate player
If a service requires a specific app or account method, ask whether Kodi actually implements that route before paying for an unrelated product. A successful Kodi installation is not proof of service compatibility. It may be the right tool for a local library while a separate official application is the intended route for another subscription.
Keep the chosen workflow manageable. Complete and understand one source before adding more. This makes later changes easier to trace and prevents an unrelated library issue from being confused with a service-account question.
