Enable the supported control
Roku’s TV guide uses Settings, System, Control other devices (CEC), including 1-touch play. Follow the controls actually provided by the TV model and confirm that the external equipment also supports the intended CEC action.
Test the specific command: wake the source, observe the TV input and check whether the expected screen appears. Then test shutdown independently. One successful direction does not prove the complete power relationship.
Configure return audio as another step
Use the television’s labelled ARC/eARC port and the model’s documented audio output settings for the receiver or soundbar. Roku’s guide treats audio output configuration separately from the CEC switch.
Play a familiar TV source at a moderate level, then check an external HDMI source if needed. Confirm sound at the intended speaker and inspect the source format separately. A working menu command cannot certify audio decoding.
Leave a clear fallback
Keep the original equipment remotes available and know how to return to TV speakers. If a linked-power behavior is inconvenient, revise that control relationship without resetting the viewing account.
For support, report the TV model, port labels, CEC action and audio-output choice. This guide follows Roku TV documentation and does not claim every third-party receiver supports all commands or formats.
Questions answered
Does one-touch play prove ARC audio is working?
No. HDMI control and return audio are separate functions.
