A live channel and a chosen video differ

3sat’s Mediathek offers the running channel as well as individually selected programmes. Opening the live stream joins its schedule. Opening an on-demand programme selects that work, where it is offered. The same broadcaster name does not guarantee identical access or controls for those two routes.

For a missed beginning, identify whether you need an available replay or a supported live control. A scheduled programme title is not itself a completed replay file. Keep the exact work and broadcast date with the comparison.

The live stream has a defined region

3sat’s official help identifies Germany, Austria and Switzerland as the region for its livestream. Individual videos can have their own rights context. A site being reachable elsewhere should not be interpreted as proof that the entire live schedule is offered there.

When the player displays a geographic message, read it as part of that item’s access conditions. Repeatedly changing the subtitle setting or reinstalling an app cannot establish a different regional entitlement.

Use the offered subtitle control

For videos carrying subtitles, 3sat describes a player control marked UT. Its accessibility guidance also describes finding subtitled programmes in search. Choosing a subtitled work and enabling its text track are separate actions.

A missing subtitle option on one programme should not become a claim that the entire Mediathek lacks subtitles. Name the title, version and device, then distinguish an absent track from a track that is present but incorrectly selected.

Early video availability can precede a finished text track

The help explains that subtitles for an advance online video can sometimes arrive after the television broadcast. An early version and a later replay can therefore differ. Inspect the actual current video rather than assuming a subtitle snapshot from an earlier day is final.

A useful report includes the programme, date, viewing mode and exact symptom. Keep a region restriction, an unavailable replay and a subtitle-timing problem separate. Those distinctions help identify the relevant broadcaster question without inventing permanent programme access.

Questions answered

Does a 3sat page opening abroad prove the livestream is available there?

No. The official livestream scope is Germany, Austria and Switzerland; individual programme rights need their own context.

What does UT identify?

It identifies the offered subtitle control or subtitle-labelled material, rather than a different subscription.
