Use the actual ABC destination

ABC iview is the Australian broadcaster’s streaming-video service. The provider’s help distinguishes ordinary account-based programme viewing from some website livestream access. A radio or audio app under the wider ABC name is another product.

Begin with the intended programme and the correct app. An account that opens one ABC service does not establish that every media type uses identical playback controls or downloading rules.

An international selection is not the whole Australian catalogue

Current ABC help directs overseas viewers to the ABC Australia category on the iview website, containing material cleared for international viewing. That is a more precise statement than either claiming that all iview works overseas or that no ABC video can be watched abroad.

Keep the current programme and relevant destination with the question. A work in the Australian collection is not automatically part of the international selection. Use the actual programme page rather than a generic national flag or old app instruction.

iview does not use the audio-app download model

ABC’s help distinguishes streaming-only video apps from audio apps that offer downloads. The iview terms do not grant a permanent personal-video download route. A listening-app instruction should therefore not be copied into television viewing.

A saved programme or viewing list is not a local offline copy. Before planning travel, identify the actual medium and the authorised viewing route rather than assuming every ABC-branded app stores programmes in the same way.

Audio description is programme- and device-specific

The official help marks audio-described programmes and notes that some series have the track on only certain episodes. Supported devices also differ. A series-level AD reference is not proof that every episode and television has the same option.

Use the exact episode and supported playback surface, then inspect Audio and Captions during the programme. For help, identify the accessible track, device and actual symptom. This separates international availability, account use and the required programme version.
