The name can identify different products
Apple TV can refer to Apple’s subscription service, the app used to find and play video, or Apple TV hardware connected to a television. A question about installation needs the hardware and operating system. A question about a charge needs the subscription or purchase. Naming the exact product makes the next step much clearer.
The app can also show store rentals, purchases and third-party branded channels. An Apple TV subscription does not automatically cover everything displayed in those areas. The title’s actual offer is the deciding information, not the fact that all options appear in an Apple interface.
A channel purchase has its own entitlement
Apple TV channels let you subscribe to selected providers through the Apple TV app. Read the channel name and the Apple Account used for the transaction. The relevant channel’s programme collection and conditions are separate from Apple’s own subscription catalogue.
Some channels support an additional sign-in route at their own app or website; others do not. A viewer who paid through Apple should not assume that the same email and password create a direct subscription with every channel provider. Use the channel-specific instructions for any account linking.
A supported viewing device may not sell content
Apple notes that not every device running the app supports on-device transactions. A television can therefore be a place to watch an existing entitlement while the purchase or subscription action is completed through another supported device.
If a buying button is absent, first distinguish that device limitation from a missing video. Check the Apple Account and the Library or subscribed channel. Do not treat the absence of an in-app shop on one television as proof that the account’s existing purchase has disappeared.
Offline viewing is not a television feature everywhere
Apple’s download guidance distinguishes supported personal devices from Apple TV boxes, smart TVs, streaming devices and the web player, which stream rather than store those downloads. A phone instruction cannot simply be followed with a TV remote.
For a journey, use the actual supported download device and inspect the title’s remaining viewing period. Channel rules can differ. Keep the offline plan separate from a claim that a title is available in every country or that a hardware purchase includes the related subscription.
